Introduction
The purpose of this e-portfolio is to present all the work produced during the completion of HKSS Concentration in Athletic Administration program at East Texas A&M University. It will showcase the graduate study course work that exhibits the competencies of the outcomes associated with the Health, Kinesiology and Sports Studies program and the Athletic Administration concentration to mastery level.
Background information about myself is presented. My professional resume shows my experience and qualifications, as well as my professional philosophy illustrates my future approach in leading a baseball program as head coach as well as becoming an athletic director and leading an athletic program. These things have been designed and created based on being an athlete in high school and junior college and from being a teacher/coach for the last six years, as well as gaining insights throughout completion of this program that has shaped my perspective on coaching and preparing for a future in athletic administration.
The five outcomes included in my e-portfolio each contain two artifacts that display support for the outcomes. Outcome 1: To plan, implement, and evaluate a program to address issues of health, athletics, or recreation. Outcome 2: To critically analyze research related to health and human performance. Outcome 3: To identify a question, investigate the problem, and draw relevant conclusions about a current issue within their concentration. Outcome 4: To understand motivational theories that impact health and human performance. Outcome 5: To identify and exhibit the management and administrative skills necessary for athletic programs.
Lastly, the final reflection will look at everything completed and learned throughout the entire program. It will show how my knowledge and understanding of current topics within athletic administration and future topics has grown and express how I plan to use this education in the future of athletic administration.
